Halloween is traditionally known for monsters and creepy creatures of all forms — and this year’s holiday contained plenty of trolls, courtesy of college football teams on social media.
With Saturday’s slate overlapping with Halloween, plenty of teams leaned into the spookiness with their postgame trolling. One of those teams was Utah, who kept its undefeated start to 2026 rolling with a 49-25 triumph over Cincinnati.
After the game, the Utes took to social media to put out a postgame win graphic that provided plenty of fright: an eerie door, cracked open, basked in a red glow, with only a pair of football gloves visible in the room behind. Lying at the foot of the ominous doorway? A can of Skyline Chili, banged up and cracked open.

Utah wasn’t the only team to troll its opponents — Halloween-themed or otherwise — in Week 9. Here are the top trolls from around college football.
Since being hired as Wisconsin‘s coach, Luke Fickell has had no answers for Iowa. Under Fickell, the Badgers are winless in four tries against the Hawkeyes, with the aggregate score sitting at 124-16 — a gaudy margin influenced by Saturday’s 30-0 Iowa win.
The Hawkeyes stayed on theme for the holiday Saturday with a spooky troll, posting a tombstone engraved with the final score and Wisconsin’s logo, with a Hawkeye perched atop the stone. The post came with a fitting caption: “Buried the Badgers.”

South Carolina played on the road at Norman this week, but it wasn’t a particularly scary trip for the Gamecocks — they racked up 521 yards of total offense in a rout of Oklahoma. A growing South Carolina lead even prompted a number of Sooners fans to hit the exits early … a fact the Gamecocks took to social media to troll, comparing Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium to a Spirit Halloween.

One of Week 9’s top upsets came from Syracuse, who took down a ranked SMU squad at home at the JMA Wireless Dome. It was a dramatic win for the Orange, too — the winning touchdown toss from Steve Angeli to tight end Noah Meyers came with less than 20 seconds remaining.
Syracuse’s troll was certainly one of the more unique of the week, mixing musical references and mascotry. “Welcome to the Orange Pony Club,” the team’s X account wrote, a reference to SMU’s mustang mascot and Chappell Roan’s 2023 hit song “Pink Pony Club.”

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more thorough beatdown than the one Duke delivered to Boston College on Saturday. Not only did star Blue Devils running back Nate Sheppard rush for five touchdowns, but the Eagles’ only points came as a result of a Duke touchdown — Boston College earned two points returning a blocked extra point for a score in the first quarter.
The Blue Devils referenced the ugly scoreline with a postgame troll, posting a photo of a cross-eyed eagle with the caption “Yeah that final score will do that to ya…”

UCF might have won the uniform battle Friday night with its Space U threads, but it was Baylor who rolled on the field — and the Bears made sure to jab at the Golden Knights and their strong uniform game afterward.
Baylor posted a final score graphic depicting a cartoon-style spaceship video game, with UCF logos in the ships’ line of fire. “Flight Grounded” reads the post’s caption.

Jacksonville State continued its unbeaten start to conference play on Wednesday night, heading on the road and shutting out New Mexico State in Las Cruces.
The Gamecocks left the road trip with a subtle troll of their opponents. A Halloween-themed graphic showing Jacksonville State’s mascot standing next to a bloodred W seems generic enough, but a key detail completes the jab: a cowboy hat sitting ominously next to the W.

Quarterback Nick Minicucci shined for the Blue Hens in their Tuesday night win over Western Kentucky, completing 32 of his 38 passing attempts for 414 yards and four touchdowns as Delaware moved to 4-4 on the year.
A simple troll did the job for the Blue Hens after their victory, who posted a graphic to social media showing the school’s mascot triumphantly holding a plush toy version of Western Kentucky’s Big Red.
