Macklemore has made it clear that he no longer wants to stay quiet about Palestine, using his latest London concert to speak about the suffering of children in Gaza.
The rapper addressed thousands of fans during his sold out show at OVO Arena Wembley on Friday. He explained that seeing the situation unfold online made him feel he could no longer remain silent.
“At a certain point, it was more uncomfortable for me to stay silent than to say something,” he told the crowd.

He also said speaking up was not about being brave but about showing basic humanity. His comments received loud cheers from fans, who joined in chants of “Free Palestine”.
Singer Paloma Faith also appeared on stage and spoke about why every child’s life matters. She questioned why her own children should be considered more important than children in Gaza, Sudan, Yemen and Congo.
Climate campaigner Greta Thunberg also addressed the audience, saying donations and benefit concerts alone would not bring change. She called for action through actual policy changes.

Macklemore’s European tour began in Dublin before moving to Paris and London. All proceeds from the concerts will support organisations providing medical care, education and humanitarian help to Palestinians.
