A Massachusetts-based manufacturer has recalled more than 1.5 million pounds of various meat products over serious potential health concerns.
Kayem Foods Inc. initiated the recall after learning that the items may not have been stored at the correct temperature. It has since been deemed a Class I recall by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, meaning “there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.”
An investigation that began after a customer reported receiving a warm product delivery on October 1 revealed that a warehouse cooler experienced temperature fluctuations while storing the items, according to FSIS.
Approximately 1,584,361 recalled items were manufactured between March 31, 2026 and October 7, 2026 and are labeled with the establishment numbers “EST. M/P 7839,” “EST. P 20935A” or “EST. M 9520” inside the USDA inspection mark. Affected items were shipped to retail and food service locations across the U.S. and Hong Kong.
Products include various brands of hot dogs, bacon, sausage, and deli meat. A full list of affected items can be found here.

There have been no reports of illness, but customers in possession of recalled products should discard them or return them to the place of purchase.
The meat recall comes amid a slew of issues affecting consumers.
Over 112,000 bottles of pain relievers sold by Amazon were voluntarily recalled last week due to discoloration. The news was shared in an enforcement report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Various bottles of 500-milligram Extra Strength Acetaminophen caplets sold across the U.S. have been affected. Customer complaints about discolored tablets led to the voluntary recall initiated by Amazon, according to the report.

Included in the recall are 90,456 500-count bottles, 14,640 200-count bottles, and 7,836 1000-count bottles, all with various lot numbers and expiration dates between September 30, 2027 and February 29, 2028.
No injuries or adverse health effects related to the discoloration of the tablets have been reported.
Amazon has contacted customers who have purchased affected bottles for refund information. Customers can check their order history and product lot numbers on Amazon’s website.
A pre-workout powder has also been recalled after it was found to contain an illegal and dangerous stimulant, the FDA said last week.
A batch of “Leader Formulas, LLC RAPTURE Preworkout” sold online and in stores between January 2025 and May 2026 was made with “1,3-Dimethylamylamine,” also known as “DMAA.”
DMAA is a synthetic chemical developed from amphetamine, sometimes used in dietary supplements that can spike blood pressure and lead to heart attacks, shortness of breath and tightening of the chest.
