Costco shoppers can bask in the glory of autumn with a brand new sweet treat at the wholesale retailer’s beloved food court.
Customers are now able to buy an apple pie sundae for just $2.99, according to recent reports on social media.
The seasonal dessert is layered with vanilla ice cream, pie crust crumbles and apple topping.
Videos posted by two Instagram accounts dedicated to Costco — Veronica Seabrooks, who goes by @costco.savvy, and a Michigan-based account called @costcobuys — showed the snack, which is sold in a plastic cup, being advertised on the menu alongside the Kirkland Signature ice cream sundaes and ice cream cups.
It is unclear how long the sundae will be available in stores. The Independent has reached out to Costco for more information.
Costco shoppers everywhere are rejoicing over the new fall-inspired item, with one person writing on Instagram: “Costco definitely knew what they were doing here!!!”
“Guys its so good. I had it today. I wasn’t even expecting to see this when I went out for groceries today,” another added. A third person shared their verdict, saying, “Correct apple pie to ice cream ratio.”
Meanwhile, on a Reddit thread dedicated to the new addition, other customers complained about the portion size and ratio.
“Man I wish they sold half-sized sundaes,” one shopper wrote. “I always get excited about the new sundaes then remember I can only eat about half of one and wouldn’t want to just throw half of one away so I never get them. I guess the only solution is to move closer to my Costco so that I can put half in the freezer.”

Another person added, “If they actually gave you a decent amount of piece [sic] filling on the bottom and top, it would be really good. But they make the middle ice cream part big to save $$$ and it becomes less than the ultimate vision. This is my opinion on the situation.”
It comes after another new Costco dessert hit shelves earlier this month.
The Kirkland Signature Lemon Cream Caramelized Croissant, consisting of flaky dough and a lemon filling baked into a crispy pastry, was deemed by shoppers as “one of the best things the Costco bakery has ever done,” with fans joking online that they planned to buy a Costco membership only to enjoy the item.
In August, Costco also added buttermilk biscuits to its bakery section, with 10-count box costing around $6.99
