Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has decided to purchase AMI single-phase smart meters at a cost of billions of rupees. In this regard, approval has been given for the purchase of 240,000 AMI single-phase meters for consumers.
The purchase of AMI single-phase meters will cost up to Rs3.5 billion.
The company’s Material Management Department has started purchasing AMI single-phase meters.
Single-phase smart meters will be purchased for new connections of consumers.
Currently, the company is providing connections to consumers on the basis of NOC.
LESCO provides NOC to consumers for the purchase of AMI single-phase meters and the consumers purchase smart meters from the market on the basis of NOC.
A demand notice will be issued to consumers upon receipt of stock by LESCO.
Issuance of NOC to consumers will be banned upon supply of stock.
