Relax, Swifties; Taylor Swift didn’t get snubbed by the Grammys this year — she just wasn’t eligible.
When the Recording Academy announced nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards on Friday, the pop superstar’s name was noticeably missing from the list. But her latest record, The Life of a Showgirl, doesn’t qualify because it was released outside the eligibility window.
The period for the 68th Grammys ran from August 31, 2024, to Aug. 30, 2025 — and Swift’s twelfth studio album dropped on October 3, 2025, more than a month too late.
That means The Life of a Showgirl will instead be considered for the 2027 Grammys. Swift also didn’t release any singles, videos, or projects within this year’s qualifying window, leaving her without a shot at any 2026 nominations.
Fans were quick to react online. “Taylor Swift doesn’t have any Grammy nominations????” one fan wrote on X, while another joked, “Does Taylor Swift’s new album qualify for this year’s Grammys or next? Cause I see no noms and I’m jumping in excitement.”
Still, Swift’s Grammy legacy remains strong. The 14-time winner holds the record for most Album of the Year wins (four in total) for Fearless, 1989, Folklore, and Midnights. Last year, her Tortured Poets Department album scored six nominations but went home empty-handed.
While Swift has yet to confirm if she’ll attend the 2026 ceremony, she could easily steal the spotlight again — whether as a presenter, performer, or simply by showing up.
