Cardi B’s estranged husband, Offset, who is already going through troubles with taxes, is now also involved in a legal battle with a security guard.
The rapper is sued for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress by Jim Sanchez, who claims that Offset physically attacked him back in March.
The Migos member allegedly “became hostile, verbally confrontational, and physically attacked Plaintiff by striking him in the face” when he was asked to show identification documents, as per legal documents obtained by Us Weekly.
The dispensary guard further claimed that many others joined Offset in assaulting him to the point where he had to be urgently taken to the hospital for severe neck and head pain.
The rapper’s spokesperson previously denied the charges against him and claimed that the guard initiated the fight, by spitting and insulting the musician.
The fresh charges against the hip hop star followed on the heels of his tax troubles, which mounted up to $2.3 million of unpaid bills.
Offset is currently also involved in a legal battle for his divorce from the WAP songstress. Their divorce case has come to a halt because of financial complications.
Cardi B claims that her ex-husband owes her child support, spousal support, as well as the taxes that she paid on his account during their seven-year marriage.
When did Cardi B and Offset split?
Cardi B and Offset finally separated in late 2024, after she filed for divorce in September. The divorce filing followed her earlier decision to file for divorce in 2020, which ended in reconciliation.
