The president of Delta State University released a video statement following the death of Demartravion “Trey” Reed, a Black student who was found dead hanging from a tree on the Mississippi campus. Officials say there is no evidence of foul play but that hasn’t stopped people online from questioning the case, given the state’s history of racially motivated violence.
