Week 4 result: Beat the Bengals 37-24
Week 4 ranking: 3

Fantasy surprise: WR Jameson Williams

After his first 1,000-yard season in 2024, Williams has started slowly in 2025. He hasn’t logged more than 50 receiving yards in four games, as he works to get in sync with veteran quarterback Jared Goff and overcome dropped passes. Williams is viewed as a risky option because he’s averaging only 7.9 fantasy points per game in PPR leagues. He hasn’t turned limited targets into production or delivered consistently this season — but he can still make big plays. — Eric Woodyard

Week 4 result: Lost to the Bills 23-20
Week 4 ranking: 2

Fantasy surprise: TE Dalton Kincaid

This could also be running back James Cook, but Kincaid has been the bigger eye-opener. He has a more significant role and the second-most fantasy points among tight ends (66.7 so far this season) after being ranked No. 15 at the position in ESPN Fantasy’s preseason projections. In his third season, Kincaid already has a career high in receiving touchdowns (three) and was targeted six times in three of the five games. A healthy Kincaid and a growing relationship with quarterback Josh Allen are positives for fantasy managers — even in an offense that spreads around the ball. — Alaina Getzenberg

Week 4 result: Lost to the Broncos 21-17
Week 4 ranking: 1

Fantasy surprise: WR A.J. Brown

Brown is ranked 40th among receivers in total fantasy points (44.4), a world away from his preseason projection as the No. 9 wideout. He eclipsed 100 yards receiving in Week 3 against the Rams but has averaged just 21 yards in the other four games. It appears the Eagles are making more of an effort to put Brown in opportunistic situations, and he’ll have better matchups after facing the Broncos’ Pat Surtain II. — Tim McManus

Week 4 result: Beat the Seahawks 38-35
Week 4 ranking: 6

Fantasy surprise: QB Baker Mayfield

It’s not a big surprise that Mayfield is No. 2 among quarterbacks in fantasy. It is surprising that he’s averaging 21.1 points per game without two key wide receivers. Mayfield hasn’t had franchise-leading scorer Mike Evans and was without Chris Godwin Jr. for the first three games. Without Evans and Godwin in three games last season, Mayfield averaged 16.4 fantasy points per game. The explosion of rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, who has five touchdowns this season, is a big reason Mayfield has been on such a tear. He has also made it work with Sterling Shepard, Ryan Miller, Tez Johnson and Cade Otton — and now Godwin is back. — Jenna Laine

Week 4 result: Beat the Raiders 40-6
Week 4 ranking: 10

Fantasy surprise: QB Daniel Jones

Jones has cooled off a bit after his hot start, but two touchdown passes Sunday gave fantasy managers a nice boost. It was his first game with multiple TD passes this season, making him the seventh-highest scoring quarterback in fantasy (95.2 points) this season. In addition, few expected him to already have three rushing touchdowns, which made up for the Colts’ lack of touchdown passes early on. But after their best red zone performance of the season against Las Vegas, the Colts might be even more productive when in scoring position. — Stephen Holder

Week 4 result: Beat the Rams 26-23 (OT)
Week 4 ranking: 12

Fantasy surprise: TE Jake Tonges

With tight end George Kittle out (right hamstring injury), Tonges has emerged as a legitimate receiving option with a knack for scoring touchdowns. The third-year tight end has 19 receptions for 166 yards and 3 touchdowns this season. Those numbers will likely tumble dramatically when Kittle returns, but Tonges has proved he can be a solid No. 2 tight end in the passing game — something the Niners have lacked for most of Kyle Shanahan’s tenure. — Nick Wagoner

Week 4 result: Bye
Week 4 ranking: 8

Fantasy surprise: Defense/ST

The Packers’ defense ranks fourth in real football (fewest yards allowed per game and second against the run), but that hasn’t translated to fantasy points. Green Bay is tied for 20th (5.3 fantasy points per game) after ranking third last season (8.2). That’s in large part because the Packers have struggled to cause turnovers. They have just two interceptions and no fumbles recovered, which comes after 17 interceptions and 14 fumbles recovered last season. Though they’re getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks — thanks in part to edge rusher Micah Parsons — they’re not getting fantasy managers points with takeaways. — Rob Demovsky

Week 4 result: Lost to the 49ers 26-23 (OT)
Week 4 ranking: 4

Fantasy surprise: WR Puka Nacua

Though there was no doubt about Nacua’s importance to this offense, it’s still somewhat surprising that he’s leading all fantasy scoring after five weeks — largely because of the target share required for that. The Rams also have receiver Davante Adams, but he has often been shadowed by the opposing team’s top cornerback. Nacua has 52 catches for 588 yards on 62 targets and has a target share of 34.6% so far this season. — Sarah Barshop

Week 4 result: Beat the Eagles 21-17
Week 4 ranking: 13

Fantasy surprise: RB J.K. Dobbins

In the Broncos’ Week 4 win over the Bengals, Dobbins had the first 100-yard rushing game for Denver since Latavius Murray in the 2022 season finale. It was also the first 100-yard rushing game of Sean Payton’s tenure as Broncos coach. Payton has steadily moved Dobbins into a firm RB1 role, and Dobbins followed his 100-yard game with 20 carries in Week 5. The Broncos have used Tyler Badie in their two-minute offense, and rookie RJ Harvey will continue to get snaps, but Dobbins has been the one to help the offense move. — Jeff Legwold

Week 4 result: Lost to the Jaguars 31-28
Week 4 ranking: 7

Fantasy surprise: RB Isiah Pacheco

Pacheco was supposed to give the Chiefs better balance on offense after missing most of last season because of a broken right leg. But he is in a funk, averaging just 7.2 fantasy points per game and 32.6 rushing yards per game. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the team in September with 130 rushing yards. The sooner Pacheco can regain his form, the sooner the Chiefs can become a fully dynamic offense again. — Nate Taylor

Week 4 result: Lost to the Buccaneers 38-35
Week 4 ranking: 9

Fantasy surprise: WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba

This is only a slight surprise. No one doubted that Smith-Njigba would be the focal point of the Seahawks’ passing game, as he entered the season as the team’s unquestioned WR1. But he might be producing slightly above some fantasy expectations. Smith-Njigba was 24th in average draft position in ESPN snake drafts and 31st in average value in salary cap drafts. With 34 catches for 534 yards and 2 touchdowns, he’s 11th overall in fantasy points scored through five weeks. — Brady Henderson

Week 4 result: Beat the Chiefs 31-28
Week 4 ranking: 14

Fantasy surprise: WR Brian Thomas Jr.

Thomas finished with 284 fantasy points as a rookie in 2024, catching 87 passes for 1,282 yards and 10 TDs. This season, he has just 48 fantasy points, with 16 catches for 244 yards and no receiving touchdowns (he has a touchdown run, though). He also has three drops, all coming in a Week 2 loss to the Bengals (one on a fourth down). Thomas is one of the main reasons the Jaguars’ passing offense has been inconsistent to start the season. — Mike DiRocco

Week 4 result: Bye
Week 4 ranking: 11

Fantasy surprise: Defense/ST

The Steelers’ defense was the top unit during fantasy drafts (around the 90th-overall pick in snake drafts). Through the first two weeks, that pick didn’t quite pan out, as the Steelers gave up at least 30 points in back-to-back weeks and nearly 400 yards in each game. But in their next two games, they had seven takeaways and held opponents to 17.5 points. It appears the tide might be turning for fantasy managers who stuck with the Steelers after a rocky start. — Brooke Pryor

Week 4 result: Beat the Chargers 27-10
Week 4 ranking: 16

Fantasy surprise: WR Deebo Samuel

Samuel ranks seventh among all receivers in fantasy points (88.6). Some of that stems from receiver Terry McLaurin missing two games because of a quad injury. Samuel has 30 catches for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns, and he also has seven carries for 46 yards. Washington wants to use him a lot, so his productivity shouldn’t diminish too much when McLaurin returns. In the three games they played together, Samuel caught 16 passes. — John Keim

Week 4 result: Lost to the Commanders 27-10
Week 4 ranking: 5

Fantasy surprise: WR Quentin Johnston

After an inconsistent first two seasons, Johnston is becoming the player the Chargers expected when they selected him in the first round of the 2023 draft. He leads the Chargers in receiving yards (377) and receiving touchdowns (four). Johnston was roughly the 38th wide receiver taken in ESPN fantasy drafts. But he is eighth among receivers in fantasy points (86.4) this season, the most among Chargers pass catchers. — Kris Rhim

Week 4 result: Beat the Browns 21-17
Week 4 ranking: 17

Fantasy surprise: RB Jordan Mason

The Vikings are leaning into Mason as a true goal-line runner, something they’ve been missing since Dalvin Cook‘s final season with them in 2022. Mason has three touchdowns in five goal-to-go carries this season. That might not sound like many, but it puts him on pace to exceed the team’s 11 such scores over the previous two seasons combined. Only the Jets (seven) had fewer during that period. Mason, acquired in the offseason via trade from the 49ers, is a powerful runner with good vision for cutbacks. — Kevin Seifert

Week 4 result: Beat the Bills 23-20
Week 4 ranking: 21

Fantasy surprise: WR Stefon Diggs

Diggs became the first Patriots receiver to record consecutive 100-yard games since Julian Edelman in 2019, showing that he can still get down the field and make explosive plays — despite being ranked 41st in preseason fantasy rankings. Diggs has 16 catches for 247 yards and 40.7 fantasy points over the past two weeks. One of the knocks on him was that his yards after catch have decreased in recent seasons, but he has 131 so far in 2025. — Mike Reiss

Week 4 result: Beat the Ravens 44-10

Fantasy surprise: RB Woody Marks

Marks entered training camp as the fifth running back on the depth chart. It was fair to suggest that Joe Mixon, Nick Chubb, Dameon Pierce and Dare Ogunbowale were ahead in mid-July. But Mixon landed on the non-football injury list, and Pierce missed half of camp because of a leg injury. So, it was clear Marks would have a bigger role this season. In the Texans’ Week 4 win over the Titans, he broke out with 27.9 fantasy points, recording 119 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns. The rookie fourth-rounder is continuing to carve out a noticeable role on the roster. — DJ Bien-Aime

Week 4 result: Bye
Week 4 ranking: 19

Fantasy surprise: Defense/ST

After having a porous defense last season, the Falcons put their trust in four rookies — edge rushers Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr., safety Xavier Watts and nickel corner Billy Bowman Jr. — and two second-year interior linemen who barely got snaps in 2024 — Ruke Orhorhoro and Brandon Dorlus. So, it made sense that the Falcons were (on average) the 24th defense taken in fantasy drafts. But led by Watts’ two interceptions and Zach Harrison‘s 2.5 sacks, Atlanta has the seventh-most fantasy points per game (8.8) among defenses this season. — Marc Raimondi

Week 4 result: Bye
Week 4 ranking: 20

Fantasy surprise: QB Caleb Williams

The Bears had one player projected in the preseason top 50 for ESPN Fantasy (wide receiver DJ Moore), but Williams’ improvement in his first month in Ben Johnson’s offense has increased his fantasy value. Williams has established a strong connection with his go-to receiver Rome Odunze (five touchdowns) while throwing for 715 yards, 7 touchdowns and 1 interception. And he has been effective while scrambling, rushing for 97 yards and a touchdown. Williams’ average of 20.5 fantasy points per game is seventh among quarterbacks. — Courtney Cronin

Week 4 result: Beat the Jets 37-22
Week 4 ranking: 23

Fantasy surprise: RB Javonte Williams

Williams entered the season as the 33rd-ranked running back in ESPN Fantasy. After five games, he is ranked third. He has 447 rushing yards after running for just 513 yards last season in Denver. Williams has a career-high five rushing touchdowns this year — the Cowboys had just six last season. The Cowboys thought Williams would be their No. 1 running back, but they did not think he would be this productive. He is on pace for 1,520 yards, which would be sixth best in franchise history. — Todd Archer

Week 4 result: Lost to the Texans 44-10
Week 4 ranking: 15

Fantasy surprise: RB Derrick Henry

Henry has gone from being the fourth-best running back in ESPN Fantasy in 2024 to 27th this year, averaging 11.8 fantasy points per game. He was projected as the ninth-best running back in the preseason, but he has failed to reach that level. He has been held to 50 yards rushing or fewer in four straight games, which matches his longest rut from 2016, when he was DeMarco Murray’s backup. But after facing the NFL’s 11th-best run defense in the Rams next Sunday, he will play three of the league’s worst run defenses after the bye: the Bears (31st), Dolphins (32nd) and Vikings (24th). — Jamison Hensley

Week 4 result: Lost to the Titans 22-21
Week 4 ranking: 18

Fantasy surprise: QB Kyler Murray

Murray was ranked as the ninth-best fantasy QB in the preseason, but he’s 17th in total points (77.8) — a product of a Cardinals offense that hasn’t found its footing this season. He ranks 31st in air yards per attempt and 29th in yards per dropback, though his saving grace is his rushing. Murray is ranked fourth in rushing yards among quarterbacks, seventh in rushing yards per play and fifth in rushing yards per game. However, he has just one rushing touchdown. — Josh Weinfuss

Week 4 result: Beat the Dolphins 27-24
Week 4 ranking: 28

Fantasy surprise: WR Xavier Legette

The focus was on first-round pick Tetairoa McMillan having a big year, and he has been solid. But Legette was expected to flourish with McMillan getting extra attention from opposing defenses — and he hasn’t. After missing Weeks 3 and 4 because of a hamstring injury, Legette scored a touchdown against Miami. But he has only six catches on 18 targets for 39 yards this season. He has a success catch rate of only 16.7%. — David Newton

Week 4 result: Lost to the Lions 37-24
Week 4 ranking: 24

Fantasy surprise: RB Chase Brown

Brown had the potential of being a top-10 running back this season, but that hasn’t come close to materializing as the Bengals have one of the league’s worst offenses. According to ESPN Research, he is 36th among running backs in fantasy scoring per game (6.3-point average in standard leagues). Though Brown hasn’t gotten much help from the offensive line, some of the metrics aren’t in his favor. He ranks 21st in percentage of rushes where he is hit at or behind the line of scrimmage. He has 22 passing targets but has yet to find the end zone there. — Ben Baby

Week 4 result: Lost to the Vikings 21-17
Week 4 ranking: 26

Fantasy surprise: RB Quinshon Judkins

Uncertainty around Judkins’ status — he missed training camp because of a legal situation — landed him at RB29 in ESPN Fantasy drafts. Since making his debut in Week 2, the 36th pick in this year’s NFL draft has stepped into the lead back role. He ranks fourth in the NFL in rushing yards (347) during that time span and is RB14 in PPR leagues. — Daniel Oyefusi

Week 4 result: Beat the Giants 26-14
Week 4 ranking: 31

Fantasy surprise: TE Juwan Johnson

Johnson was the 30th-ranked tight end in ESPN’s PPR positional fantasy rankings. Through five weeks, he has been ninth in scoring among tight ends and had double-digit points in PPR leagues in the first three games. Johnson’s usage might change with tight ends Foster Moreau and Taysom Hill back in the lineup, but Johnson has been one of quarterback Spencer Rattler‘s most frequent targets this season. — Katherine Terrell

Week 4 result: Lost to the Panthers 27-24
Week 4 ranking: 29

Fantasy surprise: TE Darren Waller

It has been only two games for Waller in the Dolphins’ offense, but he has scored three touchdowns and caught all eight of his targets. Waller missed nearly all of training camp and the team’s first three games of the season because of a hip injury. Finishing the season with three touchdowns would have been a reasonable expectation for someone who hasn’t played since January 2024, and he was the 17th tight end taken in ESPN Fantasy leagues. But Tua Tagovailoa‘s trust in Waller is obvious. And at a thin fantasy position, you could do a lot worse than Waller. — Marcel Louis-Jacques

Week 4 result: Lost to the Colts 40-6
Week 4 ranking: 25

Fantasy surprise: TE Brock Bowers

Bowers was meant to be the focal point of the Raiders’ passing game, starting the season at No. 1 in ESPN Fantasy’s preseason projections. Instead, a knee injury has prevented him from playing at full strength, and that has reflected in his numbers. After averaging 20.9 yards per catch in the season opener, Bowers averaged 8.7 yards per catch and less than 10 fantasy points per game from Weeks 2 through 4. He did not play against the Colts, and coach Pete Carroll said the All-Pro tight end is day-to-day. — Ryan McFadden

Week 4 result: Lost to the Saints 26-14
Week 4 ranking: 27

Fantasy surprise: TE Theo Johnson

The Giants don’t really have a fantasy standout without star receiver Malik Nabers (torn ACL) in the lineup. But with rookie Jaxson Dart at quarterback, Johnson has become more of a factor. He had three touchdowns in Dart’s first two starts and had a career-high seven targets in Week 5. Johnson is not a fantasy starter, but he’s a sneaky potential riser with Dart’s ability to see the middle of the field and fit the ball into tight windows. — Jordan Raanan

Week 4 result: Beat the Cardinals 22-21
Week 4 ranking: 32

Fantasy surprise: WR Calvin Ridley

Ridley showed promise during training camp, where he made a connection with rookie quarterback Cam Ward. Unfortunately, Ridley has only 15 receptions and no touchdowns this season. He faced a similar situation last season, with nine catches in his first five games. But, he still finished with 1,000 yards. He showed promise this Sunday after having five receptions for 131 yards, giving fantasy managers 18.1 points. Although Ridley didn’t get to the end zone, he had two impactful receptions that led to 10 of Tennessee’s fourth-quarter points. — Turron Davenport

Week 4 result: Lost to the Cowboys 37-22
Week 4 ranking: 30

Fantasy surprise: WR Garrett Wilson

It’s no surprise that Wilson is the team’s leading receiver, but his numbers are surprising because it was widely assumed that his production would dip due to Justin Fields‘ inconsistency at quarterback and the team’s ground-heavy approach. Wilson was projected to regress this season (241.4 fantasy points) compared with his 2024 haul (251.9 fantasy points). But he’s tied for sixth in receptions (33) and seventh in receiving yards (382) while catching four touchdowns. At this pace, he’d set career marks in all three categories. — Rich Cimini
