Taylor Swift shares rare insights on friendship with Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran has always had a special place in Taylor Swift’s life, and she has a perfect role for him at her wedding with Travis Kelce.

The 35-year-old pop superstar, who just released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, talked about her special bond with the Shape of You hitmaker in an interview on Friday, October 3.

The 14-time-Grammy winner admitted that she thinks “it would be hard to keep him from” performing at her wedding, in conversation at U.K.’s Hits Radio Breakfast Show.

Swift went on to joke about Sheeran pretending to be annoyed by the fact that “‘I’m always being asked to sing at weddings.’ It’s like, ‘Ed, if there is a stage, you know you’ll be on it.’ He knows what people want, and he wants to give people what they want.”

However, the Anti-Hero hitmaker added that it’s a habit she shares with the Photograph singer, “That’s the fun thing about our friendship is we both love performing, and we love writing and singing. We’re like, ‘Oh, don’t make me sing … alright!’ Up there explaining to the house band, you’re like Shake It Off is three chords. We’re starting first verse here!’”

Swift continued, “But that’s the thing, we love what we do, we love to get up onstage, it’s actually not that hard to talk either of us into performing at anything.”

The Eras Tour performer recalled sharing the stage with Sheeran during the Wembley show, “I saw him last weekend at the wedding of one of our best friends, and we were talking about how much we loved it when he came out at Wembley during the Eras Tour.”
