Sona BLW Share Price: The shares of Sona BLW Precision Forgings saw a sharp uptick of nearly 7% on Thursday after a report said that Chinese automaker BYD is in talks with the company for the supply of EV components. The Indian company may also set up a local component manufacturing plant in China, CNBC-TV18 reported.
Sona BLW Precision Forgings is reportedly in advanced discussions with Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD to set up a local component manufacturing plant in China, according to a CNBC-TV18 report citing sources familiar with the matter. The potential unit is said to be part of Sona BLW’s long-term strategic roadmap to deepen its partnership with BYD.
News18 could not independently verify this report.
Interestingly, a significant share of Sona BLW’s current revenue comes from supplying EV components to Tesla, one of BYD’s key global competitors.
The report triggered a sharp rally in the company’s stock, which surged on the back of heavy trading volumes. By 12:10 pm, over 1.26 crore shares had changed hands—nearly five times the stock’s 10-day average volume.
Sona BLW shares were trading at Rs 488 apiece in afternoon trade, marking an 8% gain over the past five sessions. However, the stock is down about 2% in the past month and has declined more than 15% in the last six months. So far in 2025, the stock has lost nearly 18%, reflecting considerable volatility.
Part of this year’s fluctuation is attributed to uncertainty in global trade policies, including inconsistent statements from US President Donald Trump, which have affected investor sentiment in the EV component supply space.
