Selena Gomez on dealing with ‘sensitive’ issues amid her wedding plans

Selena Gomez has recently revealed how she deals with “sensitive” issue over the years amid her wedding plans with Benny Blanco.
The Only Murders in the Building actress reflected on body shaming and weight struggle in a new interview with Allure magazine.
“I’ve dealt with a lot of weight issues in my life, and that’s something I’m very sensitive to,” said the 33-year-old.
Interestingly, Selena opened up that she’s been receiving spiteful remarks over her weight for years but now it takes a toll on her mental health.
“I got stung by a person saying I was fat. Why is that [emotion] coming up?” she told the outlet.
The Emilia Perez actress clarified that her weight would often fluctuate because of health problems.
However, people often jumped at the chance to shame her which is why she resorts to therapy.
Selena disclosed that she used “dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), which she described as “peeling away layers and connecting the dots”.
According to Cleveland Clinic, DBT is a “type of talk therapy that has been specially adapted for people who experience emotions very intensely”.
Nevertheless, Selena confessed that the therapy took a lot of effort.
“You just definitely have to be willing to do the work, and that part can be tricky,” she continued.
Meanwhile, Selena noted that therapy helped her stop blaming herself and move forward for exciting opportunity in life.
Elsewhere in the interview, the songstress added that she also took break from social media even though she’s considered one of the most-followed celebrities online.
“I finally feel like I’m in a place where I don’t need to be apologetic for every single thing that I do,” she stated.
