Sabrina Carpenter exits Austin show without ‘Nonsense’ twist

Sabrina Carpenter bid farewell to Austin without treating them to a Nonsense custom outro.
After performing at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in Zilker Park on Saturday Night, October 4, the 26-year-old pop star took to her Instagram stories to share a picture of a beautiful sunset.
“See you soon Austin,” she wrote over the scenic snapshot with a white heart emoji.
The Espresso hitmaker’s social media update came after she delivered a high-energy, Texas-flavoured performance including glittering cowgirl boots, Lone Star State references, and even a surprise appearance from country legend Shania Twain.
Her set was packed with fan favourites, living up to the festival’s big-stage expectations but one highly anticipated moment didn’t go as expected.
For the unversed, the Please Please Please chart topper has made a viral tradition out of ending her hit song Nonsense with a cheeky outro, complete with clever wordplay or a flirty punchline tailored to wherever she’s performing.
Fans at ACL Fest were ready for an Austin-themed twist, perhaps a playful city-specific nod to breakfast tacos or Sixth Street shenanigans.
However, much to fans’ disappointment, the Grammy winner wrapped the song with the usual lyrics before the stage lights dimmed with no hopes for an extra verse or local flair.
The omission was a surprise, especially since these custom outros have become a major highlight of her live shows.
Despite it Carpenter’s set was a standout of ACL’s first weekend, sharing the spotlight with acts like The Killers, T-Pain, and John Summit.
