Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund has launched the Motilal Oswal Special Opportunities Fund, an open-ended equity scheme focusing on special situations.

NFO: Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund, an equity-focused fund house, has announced the launch of its New Fund Offer (NFO) ‘Motilal Oswal Special Opportunities Fund’ (‘the scheme’), an open-ended equity scheme following special situation’s theme. The fund will be opened between July 25, 2025 to August 8, 2025.

The Scheme will re-open for continuous repurchase/resale on August 21, 2025.

The primary objective of the scheme is to achieve long term capital appreciation by investing in opportunities presented by special situations such as corporate restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, government policy and/or regulatory changes, disruption, upcoming and new trends, new & emerging sectors, companies/sectors going through temporary unique challenges and other similar instances.

However, there is no assurance that the investment objective of the scheme will be achieved.

The fund will attempt to beat the benchmark Nifty 500 total return index.

The fund aims to capitalize on special opportunities in the market by following MOMF’s QGLP framework—investing in Quality businesses with high Growth potential, Longevity, and at a reasonable Price. It will adopt a focused, high-conviction, active portfolio management approach.

The fund seeks to benefit from company specific (events/ developments), sectoral, or macroeconomic events such as corporate actions, regulatory or policy changes, mergers and acquisitions, or temporary disruptions. The fund is suitable for investors seeking to invest predominantly in equities and equity related instruments following a special situations theme and aiming for Capital appreciation over long term.

The Fund will be managed by Mr. Ajay Khandelwal (Fund Manager – Equity component), Mr. Atul Mehra (Fund Manager – Equity component), Mr. Bhalchandra Shinde (Associate Fund Manager – Equity Component), Mr. Rakesh Shetty (Fund Manager – Debt Component), and Mr. Sunil Sawant (Fund Manager – Overseas Securities).
