Princess Diana thought Prince Harry would become king instead of William?
The late Princess Diana reportedly believed that Prince Harry would make a better King rather than Prince William.
While William was known to be the future King one day, and Harry lived his life as the Spare, a royal expert recently revealed that William “didn’t want to be the King.”
Speaking on the Channel 5 programme William & Harry: Princes At War, royal expert Robert Jobson revealed that Diana had a secret name for Harry.
He said, “She used to refer to Harry as GKH (Good King Harry) because she thought he’d probably be better equipped for the role in the future than William.”
Meanwhile, Jeremy Paxman also recalled his conversation with the late Princess, saying, “We talked about our children and she said William often told her that he didn’t really want to be king, and then Harry would say, ‘If you don’t want the job I’ll have it’.”
It is worth mentioning that the late mother of Prince William and Prince Harry previously spoke about her eldest son’s claim to the throne in a Panorama interview in 1995.
When asked if William, who was 13 at the time, should directly have the King title, Diana said, “Well, then you have to see that William’s very young at the moment, so do you want a burden like that to be put on his shoulders at such an age. So I can’t answer that question.”
Princess Diana, former and late wife of King Charles passed away on August 31, 1997 at the age 36 years.
