‘Pretty Little Baby’ singer Connie Francis breaks silence on 1962 track’s comeback
Connie Francis’ track Pretty Little Baby is trending all of sudden after almost 63 years of its release.
The 87-year-old actress and singer’s 1962 track has become the most popular song on TikTok.
Speaking about the song’s unexpected comeback, Connie told People Magazine that she “didn’t even remember” the track.
Connie said, “To tell you the truth, I didn’t even remember the song!”
“I had to listen to it to remember. To think that a song I recorded 63 years ago is touching the hearts of millions of people is truly awesome. It is an amazing feeling,” she added.
With even A-list celebrities making videos on the song, Connie said, “It’s an honor. To see that they’re paying homage to me is just breathtaking.”
Connie, who retired from the industry in 2018, shared why she thinks the song connects with people now.
“I think it’s innocent and pure, and this is a time when everything is in such chaos,” she said.
Connie Francis was the first woman in the 1960s to score a No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Now, her song Pretty Little Baby, which was not even heavily promoted, has gone viral after all these years.
