Homebound actor, Janhvi Kapoor’s first Cannes red carpet ensemble featured a hand-crushed textured corset, skirt and signature drape.

Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Couture in Cannes’ moment was brought to life by visionary couturier Tarun Tahiliani. Exuding royalty, Janhvi made her first red carpet appearance at the 78th Cannes Film Festival in a custom-made skirt and corset crafted in real tissue, specially woven in Benaras.

Styled by Rhea Kapoor, the opulent blush pink ensemble was paired with a signature Tarun Tahiliani drape. The ensemble is finished with an uncut hem—left raw and untouched to retain the authenticity of the weave. The texture on the Tarun Tahiliani creation was achieved through a hand-crushed technique, lending depth to the surface. Janhvi’s understated yet timeless glam celebrated elegance with a hint of glamour.

Janhvi’s ‘Royal vibe’ was further celebrated with pearl jewellery pieces featuring layered necklaces. And we are glad that Rhea Kapoor is back at Cannes dominating the red carpet with their styling superpowers.

Homebound which is selected for the 78th Festival de Cannes in the ‘Un Certain Regard’ category, saw Janhvi Kapoor along with filmmaker Karan Johar, director Neeraj Ghaywan and her co-stars Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa make their first ever red carpet appearance on the Vie Privée (A Private Life) red carpet.

Neeraj Ghaywan also was seen helping Janhvi with her voluminous skirt on the red carpet. A special moment captured on the Festival de Cannes official livestream. While Janhvi looked like a queen in couture, her co-stars Ishaan adorned a velvet statement piece designed by Gaurav Gupta and Vishal Jethwa dazzled in Kaushik Velendra and filmmaker Karan Johar aced the Manish Malhotra ensemble.

Ahead of her Cannes red carpet debut, Janhvi who was styled by Rhea Kapoor in Miu Miu, shared a sneak peak into the Homebound star’s Cannes out and about style. Dressed head to toe in Miu Miu featuring a co-ord set with chequered layering, Janhvi looked comfortably chic in the outfit.
