Hoda Kotb set to host own show by replacing A list celebrity
Hoda Kotb is reportedly all set to take over Kelly Clarkson’s daytime show.
According to Radar Online, Hoda is in the final stages of talks to replace Kelly as the host.
“Kelly’s burned out and ready to walk, and bosses have their hearts set on Hoda to take over,” an insider told the outlet. “She’s the top contender.”
Reports of Kelly’s personal troubles have been swirling for months now, suggesting that after her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, the singer has been struggling and the daytime show is taking a toll on the singer.
“She’s mentally done,” the insider said.
This comes after the Stronger hitmaker missed some episodes of her show in March and April, with several celebrities stepping in as guest hosts.
Afterwards, she told her audience at a concert that she doesn’t perform live that often due to the show.
The insider continued, “She’s worried about her staff losing their jobs, but if someone like Hoda steps in, the show will go on, which would be music to Kelly’s ears.”
Hoda, who left the Today show after co-hosting for seven years, is every network’s dream host to sign.
“Hoda with her own daytime talk show is pure gold. She connects instantly with viewers, and networks are drooling at the thought of locking her down,” shared the mole.
“Hoda’s not desperate but the numbers being thrown around are simply too good to ignore. She’s in control and knows her worth but everyone’s expecting an announcement from her very soon,” they added.
