Damson Idris reflects on powerful connection with Brad Pitt
Damson Idris has opened up about his friendship with Brad Pitt and said their bond behind the scenes mirrors the relationship between their characters in the upcoming F 1 – The Movie.
In a conversation with People Magazine, the actor described working with the Hollywood heartthrob as a “seamless dynamic.”
He revealed that he and the Hollywood star often shared laughs between takes, adding that Pitt would share stories about meeting legends like Prince and Sidney Poitier.
“It was a seamless dynamic between us,” he said of their bond. “As soon as they’d yell, ‘Cut,’ we both sat at our seats and giggled.”
“He’d be telling me stories of when he first met Prince and Sidney Poitier. And I’m like, ‘Oh my God, this is just too iconic, you’re a walking monument.'”
Idris praised Pitt as a humble and generous actor who helped him throughout the filming process. “I always say he’s the most humble person and such a brilliant actor, and he wants you to win,” he said.
“And he did that for me the entire movie, made a point of having the two characters be equals, so I’m incredibly indebted to him and I can’t wait for people to see it.”
The sports drama, which also stars Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon and Tobias Menzies, will hit the theatres on June 27
