Bunnie Xo on husband Jelly Roll’s affair confession: ‘I don’t talk about this’

Bunnie Xo is standing by her husband, Jelly Roll, and choosing grace over judgment after the country singer admitted to having an affair earlier in their marriage.

Just a day after Jelly Roll opened up about his past infidelity, the Dumb Blonde podcast host shared a powerful message addressing an online critic who suggested she should “hop away” from her husband following the revelation.

“It actually takes a stronger woman to face pain head-on, do the work, and rebuild with the man she loves — instead of running or gossiping,” Bunnie wrote in a message posted to her Instagram Story on Oct. 22.

“Growth isn’t weakness, it’s grace.”

The 45-year-old, who married the Bloodline singer in 2016, continued her message with compassion and strength, adding, “But not everyone’s built for that kind of strength. I pray you never have to feel that pain bc you’re judging another woman’s life.”

Her response came after Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, candidly reflected on one of the most painful experiences of his life during an appearance on the Human School Podcast on Oct. 21.

“I don’t talk about this publicly at all,” he said, “but one of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife.”

The 40-year-old explained that the experience deeply affected him, saying, “It was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.’ It was just such a—just really, really, really blew me back.”

Despite the heartbreak, Jelly Roll shared that the couple worked hard to rebuild their marriage and heal from the experience.

“I did a lot of work to repair that relationship,” he said. “The repair has been special. And we’re stronger than we could have ever been.”

The singer, who is a father to daughter Bailee Ann, 17, and son Noah, 9, from previous relationships, also reflected on the unhealthy influences and habits that contributed to his poor choices at the time.

He admitted that being around “a bunch of people that were cheating on their wives,” along with his struggles with cocaine and alcohol, played a role in his actions.

Now sober and focused on personal growth, the Grammy-nominated artist said he and Bunnie have surrounded themselves with more positive influences, “people I wanted to be like.”

While he acknowledged wishing their love story had unfolded without the pain of betrayal, Jelly Roll said he takes pride in the strength they’ve found since.

“I wish it would’ve went in the way that it never had an affair,” he said, “but I am proud of who we are today.”

Through it all, Bunnie’s words reflect that same resilience — a message of forgiveness, self-awareness, and the power of rebuilding love even after it’s been tested.
