Dozens hurt when yacht strikes dock in Hudson River, FDNY says

Dozens of people were hurt when a yacht struck a dock in the Hudson River on Saturday, the New York City Fire Department says.
It happened around 4:15 p.m. in the water near the Henry Hudson Parkway and West 125th Street.
The boat struck a pylon while attempting to dock near Riverside Park, Coast Guard Sector New York says.
Passengers say about 400 people attending a birthday party were on board the vessel at the time.
“Boat hit the dock, and they were standing waiting to depart because you knew that it was coming in for us to depart. So nobody was braced, and when it hit the docks, they just fell,” one passenger said. “God is good, and nobody died.”
Marine units then escorted the yacht to a dock at West 125th Street, where passengers were unloaded.
The FDNY says a total of 35 people suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and 22 of those individuals were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
The Coast Guard says the yacht sustained some damage.
The investigation is ongoing.
This crash comes one month after a Mexican navy training ship struck the Brooklyn Bridge, killing two sailors and injuring 19 others. That incident remains under investigation.
