Ariana Grande’s solo appearance at VMA’s red carpet sparks speculation

Ariana Grande steals the limelight!

The One Last Time singer had a stellar night at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, held on September 7 at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. 

She took home three major awards: Video of the Year, Best Pop, and Best Long Form Video for her song Brighter Days Ahead from the deluxe edition of her album Eternal Sunshine.

Despite her big win, Grande was under scrutiny for her solo appearance at the red carpet, fueling breakup rumours with Ethan Slater.

However, as per Entertainment Tonight, a source close to the couple reassured that they are still together and happy. 

Slater did not attend the ceremony but showed his support for Grande by sharing a video of her acceptance speech on his Instagram Stories. 

“Ariana and Ethan are still together and very happy with each other. They just enjoy keeping their private life private,” the source said.

Grande gave an emotional acceptance speech for Best Pop, thanking her fans, family, and team. 

“I have to start by saying thank you so much to my fans. I’m gonna cry,” she said onstage. 

“I love you with every fiber of my being. Thank you, MTV. Thank you to my dad, who acted in this video for the first time in his life. He is the best scene partner and dad in the world.”

Grande’s wins were a highlight of the evening, and she expressed her gratitude to her team for bringing her vision to life. “Thank you so much for bringing these songs and this vision to life,” she said. 

“And articulating them visually in a way that was fanciful and yet specific and vulnerable and yet protective, all at once.”
