Gigi Hadid auditioned for Disney’s role almost no one knows about

Gigi Hadid auditioned for Disney’s ‘Tangled’

Gigi Hadid is opening up about a surprising career move, maybe one that was kept a secret, right amid making headlines for her relationship with Bradley Cooper.

In her new Vogue cover story, the 30-year-old model revealed that she auditioned for the role of Rapunzel in Disney’s planned live-action remake of Tangled before the project was placed on hold.

She even took singing lessons to prepare for the part.

“What do we do in this job anymore that scares us?” Hadid asked her longtime friend Kendall Jenner during the interview, before sharing that she was proud of how the audition turned out.

“I was really proud of my scene. The singing… I knew they were going to go with a real singer, but I’ll show you my audition scene later.”

News of Disney’s Tangled remake first surfaced in late 2024, with filmmaker Michael Gracey in talks to direct from a script by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.

However, the film was shelved after the live-action Snow White remake underperformed at the box office, while the studio found major success this summer with Lilo & Stitch, which has become the only billion-dollar release of the year.

Gigi Hadid is ‘waiting’ to get married to Bradley Cooper

Beyond her career, Hadid’s personal life is also in focus as her relationship with Cooper continues to draw attention.

A source told Star Magazine that while Hadid would be thrilled to marry the 50-year-old actor, he appears hesitant about marriage for a second time.

“Gigi’s not pressuring him and has ordered everyone in her life to do the same, but it’s no secret she’s waiting for this to happen,” the insider shared.

According to the source, Cooper has sent “mixed messages,” sometimes talking about marriage as if it’s certain and other times expressing concerns about “lawyers and paperwork and prenups.”

Still, Hadid is said to be patient.

“She is not going to wait forever,” the insider noted. “He really needs to get out of his own way and just do it.”
