Ed Sheeran details major update about European tour for new album ‘Play’

Ed Sheeran fans are in for a surprise as the singer announces an “intimate” European arena tour for his new album Play.

The Shape of You hit-maker revealed his tour dates on Instagram on September 3 before the release of his latest music album.

Dishing out details about the tour, Ed wrote in the caption, “Coming to play some shows in Europe.”

“These shows will be more intimate than a stadium show, obviously, but still will be incredible,” said the 34-year-old.

The Perfect crooner explained, “I love playing these venues so much. If you wanna come, pre-order Play for the chance to access pre-sale tickets.”

Ed opened up that for UK shows “pre-order on @amazonmusicuk” before 7pm BST on September 7.

For EU shows, the singer asked his fans to “pre-order on my official store” before 3pm BST on September 8.

In the end, Ed added, “The pre-sale goes live at 10am on September 9, while the general sale will land 48 hours late on September 11.”

The announcement came after the singer pointed out that there are some “professional singers who mime” during a new YouTube video conversation with the Beta Squad last month.

Meanwhile, Ed also jabbed at some of his fellow singers, saying, that he’s unsure if a “professional singer would admit to miming”.

However, the singer clarified he cannot mime because he won’t be able to get away with it.

“I would never cancel a show for my voice. I’d always push through, even if it was like slightly raspy,” added Ed.
