The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley’s ongoing divorce from husband Paul “PK” Kemsley has taken a new turn as PK officially filed a legal response requesting joint custody of their two children.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, PK is asking for both legal and physical custody of the couple’s son Jagger and daughter Phoenix.
His filing directly contradicts Dorit’s initial request for sole custody and spousal support.
In his response, PK not only opposed Dorit’s custody request but also waived his own right to spousal support and asked the court to deny hers.
Moreover, the custody dispute came just weeks after Dorit filed for divorce in April, one day after PK was photographed holding hands and kissing The Amazing Race alum Shana Wall during a public outing in Los Angeles.
Additionally, the couple’s separation was confirmed in a joint statement in May 2024, where they admitted to experiencing challenges in their marriage over the past few years, as per the publication.
In regards to this, the statement read, “We have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while we prioritize our children.”
Dorit and PK tied the knot in 2015 after the birth of their son Jagger, and welcomed daughter Phoenix a year later. PK also has three children from a previous marriage.
Season 14 of RHOBH has offered viewers an inside look at the breakdown of their marriage, showcasing rising tensions, including Dorit accusing PK of being a “full-blown alcoholic” and detailing their “toxic” fights, as per the outlet.
In one episode, PK admitted to fellow cast member Mauricio Umansky that the couple had yet to tell their children about the split, citing the sensitivity of the situation.
