LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Tuesday directed the Punjab chief secretary to constitute a committee on a petition seeking a high-level investigation into sexual harassment in the educational institutions.
A case concerning sexual harassment in the educational institutions came up for hearing before a three-member bench of court presided over by Chief Justice Aalia Neelum.
Justice Aalia directed the chief secretary to constitute a committee for investigation.
The state counsel told the court that the statement of the girl student was recorded who said she had not been sexually abused.
SSP Investigation told the court that a JIT had been constituted and the investigation completed. He said the girl did not want to come to the fore.
The counsel for the federal government said the case was registered against four persons, including a woman, for uploading a false video. The court remarked had the relevant institutions taken action, the ambiguity would not have been created. The petition said women were insecure in the educational institutions, as sexual harassment and violence related incidents were on the rise.
