Filming of obscene scenes with minors, case registered against Ekta and Shubha Kapoor

Mumbai Police has registered a case under the POCSO Act against Alt Balaji Telefilms, producers Ekta Kapoor and Shubha Kapoor.

The action follows a Borivali court order following a complaint filed by yoga instructor Swapnil Revaji.

The complaint alleged that Alt Balaji's three web series, including Class of 2017 and Class of 2020 filmed pornographic scenes with minors. It is alleged that these serials showed minor actors in school uniforms involved in inappropriate and obscene acts.

On court orders the police under various sections of the POCSO Act including Sections 13 and 15, and Section 67(a) of the Information Technology Act Women Prohibition Act Sections 292 293 295(a) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Cases have been filed. These charges are intended to protect minors from abuse obscenity, and abuse.

There has been no official statement from Alt Balaji or producers Ekta Kapoor and Shubha Kapoor
