Auckland - A New Zealand woman has been sentenced to two months in prison for overfeeding her pet dog.
According to media reports, the woman made her pet dog 'Nogi' fat by feeding it so much that it became difficult for him to walk for 10 meters without a break.
When security personnel saw Nogi before he was arrested, he weighed 53.7 kg and his short legs were struggling to support his huge body.
Officers said he had to stop three times while walking just 10 meters from where he was placed in the rescue car. There was so much fat under his skin that doctors could barely detect a heartbeat when he checked up.
Nogi also suffered from conjunctivitis and had sores on his elbows and stomach, probably because he spent so much time lying on his stomach that he could not move.
