Washington - US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has informed Israel of the changes in US forces in the Middle East, saying that the Pentagon will deploy forces.
According to a foreign news agency report, the Pentagon said that Austin had not yet made a final decision on which forces would be deployed.
Officials said a wide range of options, including aircraft and naval assets, were being considered. He has threatened revenge while staying.
It is unclear whether US preparations are as rapid as they were before April 13, when Iran attacked Israeli territory with drones and missiles.
Both Iran and Hamas have blamed Israel for the killings and vowed to retaliate against their enemy, with Israel neither claiming nor denying responsibility for the deaths.
The White House said Biden spoke to Netanyahu by telephone and discussed new US defense military deployments to support Israel against threats such as missiles and drones.
