Florida - A parrot who gained fame from the social media platform TikTok has set a Guinness World Record by identifying 12 objects in three minutes.
Florida duo Dalton and Victoria Mason's four-year-old African gray parrot Apollo set a record for recognizing objects by name, including a bug, book and socks.
The pair said that Apollo's training was inspired by the methods prescribed by Irene Pepperberg.
Irene Pepperberg is an animal psychologist who has spent 30 years in research with a parrot named Alex.
Even before the record, Apollo is a social media star with 2.8 million followers on TikTok and 1.37 million followers on YouTube.
