According to the details, the Qutbpur police foiled the attempt of a minor girl to marry an elderly man in the village of Mohammadpur Ghota in Lodhran district, about which a widow called the police emergency helpline, police officials said. Recently, the Lahore High Court has ordered action against Nikah Khawan in the case related to the marriage of an underage girl. A minor girl brought from Darlaman was produced in the court. The petitioner told the court that 'the girl is 15 years old who was forcibly married, the case of abduction of the girl is registered in Shahdara', during the hearing, Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu asked the girl that 'Son, did you get married? By your own will?', the girl gave a statement in the court saying that 'Yes, I have married of my own will'.
On this occasion, the court asked the girl again that 'how old are you?', in response to which the girl told the court that 'I am between 15 and 16 years old', later the court referred the case to the Judicial Magistrate. Justice Anwar-ul-Haq ordered to file a case against Nikah Khawan as to how he married a young girl.
