ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has canceled the primary party membership of Sher Afzal Marwat, former senior vice-president and member of the National Assembly, and demanded that he also resign from the National Assembly.
PTI Additional General Secretary Firdous Shamim Naqvi has issued a notification saying that PTI has decided to cancel the basic party membership of Sher Afzal Marwat for serious violations.
A show cause notice was also issued for violating the policy to give their statements as per the instructions issued, and a committee was formed to monitor tweets and media statements of Sher Afzal Marwat, the notification said.
According to the notification issued by Firdous Shamim Naqvi, the committee concluded that Sher Afzal Marwat does not follow the rules and regulations of the party and considers himself above the party thereby distorting the image and narrative of the party badly. has happened
The notification said that in view of the findings of the committee and their fresh statements and complaints received by the committee, their membership has been recommended and approved by Founder Chairman Imran Khan.
The committee has said that Sher Afzal Marwat is an honorable person so he should resign from the National Assembly which he won as PTI's nominee and re-election.
It should be noted that PTI had suspended the party membership of Sher Afzal Marwat last month and a committee consisting of party spokesperson Rauf Hasan, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Brigadier (retd) Mossadegh Abbasi and Dawood Khan Kakar has been appointed to inquire into the violation of party discipline. was formed.
In the notification issued by Umar Ayub, it was said that taking action against Sher Afzal Marwat for violating party discipline, his party has been suspended.
In the declaration, it was written that due to the statements and actions of Sher Afzal Marwat, the party suffered serious damage and he had already been removed from the political and core committee and the said action against him has been taken on the instructions of founder chairman Imran Khan.
