Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced a reward of Rs 15 crore for national hero Arshad Nadeem, who won a gold medal for Pakistan in the Olympics after 40 years.
A reception was organized in honor of Arshad Nadeem at the Prime Minister House in which Arshad Nadeem, his family and government ministers and others participated.
Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Arshad Nadeem is the hero of today's gathering and the 25 crore people of Pakistan, today is a moment of great pride and joy.
The Prime Minister said that Arshad Nadeem has doubled the joy of Independence Day, his victory has given a new impetus to the entire Pakistani nation.
Shahbaz Sharif said that to face the Himalayan challenges of Pakistan, a committee is being formed regarding what steps the government can take in the field of sports.
The Prime Minister said that the Sindh government announced a reward of Rs 5 crore for Arshad Nadeem while the Chief Minister of Punjab announced a reward of Rs 10 crore for Arshad Nadeem.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that I announce a reward of Rs 15 crore for Arshad Nadeem. The reward money of Arshad Nadeem will not be tax deductible.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the road between F9 and F10 of Islamabad is being named as Arshad Nadeem Road and I announce the construction of Arshad Nadeem High-Performance Academy in Jinnah Stadium.
The Prime Minister also announced an endowment fund of one billion rupees for sportsmen and also announced the award of Hilal Imtiaz to Arshad Nadeem.
He said that the needs of the players will be met with the endowment fund
On the other hand, Arshad Nadeem while addressing the ceremony said that I thank the Prime Minister, the whole of Pakistan has welcomed me more than my hard work, the honor given to a player is the most important.
Arshad Nadeem said that I am very happy that Allah Ta'ala has won the gold medal and will celebrate 14th August with the gold medal.
He said that if Allah keeps me fit, I will set a world record
