The controversy surrounding Algerian boxer Iman Khalif started intensifying before the fight against Iman, and Hungarian boxer Lusa Hamuri shared insulting posts on social media.
Lusa Hamori shared posts insulting a rival boxer on her Instagram account, the Hungarian boxer was later forced to remove the posts from her social media account after being heavily criticized for the insulting posts.
The Algerian Olympic Committee strongly protested against the insulting posts of the Hungarian boxer and wrote a protest letter to the International Olympic Committee.
In the letter, the Algerian Olympic Committee said that the insulting and prejudicial post against the rival athlete is against the IOC Charter.
The Olympics bout between Algerian women's boxer Iman Khalif and Hungary's Lusa Hamuri is scheduled to take place today.
Some quarters have questioned Iman's status as a female boxer based on a report by the International Boxing Association (IBA) that the IBA had classified Iman Khalif and Lin Yu Ting as women based on a test last year. He was disqualified from playing boxer
The IBA declared the boxer who withdrew from the bout against Iman Khalif as the Olympic champion and announced the award to the Italian boxer Angela Carini as the Olympic champion.
President IBA Omar Karimlov said that IBA will give Angela Carini the fixed prize money for the gold medalist.
In May, IB allocated 3.1 million dollars in prize money for the 100 medalists of the Paris Olympics boxing event. The gold medal has a prize of 100,000 dollars, in which 50,000 dollars is to be given to the player, 25,000 to the coach and 25,000 to the federation.
