Algerian boxer Iman Khalif reached the semi-finals of the Paris Olympics.
In the women's 66 kg category in the eighth day of boxing in the Olympic Games, Iman Khalif faced Hungary's Anna Luka Hamuri in which she defeated her opponent five to zero on points to not only make it to the semi-finals but also to win bronze. The medal was also confirmed.
Algerian boxer Iman Khalif made headlines when her opponent Angela Carini of Italy refused to fight her in the first round after just 46 seconds of the bout. Angela said that Iman was not up to the standards of a woman, so she could not fight them.

The IOC supported Iman Khalif by stating that she is fit to fight in women's boxing, Italian boxer Angela later apologized to Iman for her behavior.
It should be noted that the controversy regarding Algerian boxer Iman Khalif has intensified. Before the fight against Iman Khalif, the Hungarian boxer Lusa Hamori had made insulting posts on social media and removed the posts after severe criticism.
