Sources say this is because certificates will not be issued to players in all formats as per the policy.
LAHORE: Pakistani players Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan have suffered a major setback as they are unlikely to get a no-objection certificate (NOC) to play in the Global T20 Canada, Geo News quoted sources as saying on Friday. Reported to
According to sources, the trio will not get NOCs despite the Canadian League scheduled from July 25 to August 11.
This is because the certificate will not be issued to players of all formats as per the policy. Sources said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not in his favor due to the busy international schedule.
This development comes after the cricket body decided not to give NOC to fast bowler Naseem Shah to play in The Hundred Cricket League as he is an all-format player.
However, Global T20 Canada is yet to receive approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC) due to several issues.
He further said that only after the approval of the league, the NOC of the players will be formally decided.
Pacers Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Nawaz, Asif Ali, and Iftikhar Ahmed also have contracts in Global T20 Canada.
Earlier this week, the PCB had said that it would work out the technical process for issuing NOCs to players and those who fulfill the requirements will be given NOCs.
PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi said that players will be promoted on the basis of their fitness and performance. There is no place for players who do not meet the standard. There will be no compromise on discipline." Ga," PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi said.
