In a statement issued by the PCB, it is said that for the Global T20, the PCB has received NOC applications from Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi. After consultation with the three players and the selection committee, it has been decided not to issue NOC to these three cricketers

According to the board, in the period from August 2024 to March 2025, the Pakistan cricket team has to play 9 Tests of the ICC World Test Championship, in addition to playing the ICC Champions Trophy next year, which is to be held in Pakistan. Similarly, Pakistan will play 9 Tests, 14 One Day Internationals, and 9 T20 Internationals in this period, so all three cricketers are cricketers of all three formats and Pakistan will need their services in the next 8 months.
According to the PCB, in view of the Pakistan Cricket Board's workload management policy, it is in the best interest of Pakistan cricket and the players that these players skip the event in Canada so that they are in their best mental and physical condition for the season. It will start with a two-Test series against Bangladesh
