Prince Harry received good news from Britain after receiving an honorary award.
Prince Harry, who accepted the Pat Tillman Award for his Invictus Games initiative, has been praised for his new honour.
The Duke of Sussex also received a new title from Britain after accepting the award at a lavish ceremony in the US after nearly 80,000 people signed a petition protesting the decision.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold, speaking to GB News, gave the Duke the new title after Harry's speech at the ceremony, claiming he was a "gentle character".
In his acceptance speech, the youngest son of King Charles III praised the eternal" bond between a mother and son and praised Tillman's mother Mary's advocacy of Pat's legacy, calling it deeply personal. and one that I respect.
Defending Harry, King Charles' former butler said the heavy criticism of the Duke from the veteran community would be a "weight on his shoulders".
Harold added: “It's quite a personal thing for him because obviously his service over the years, including in Afghanistan, the launch of the Invictus Games, which the word has always been associated with.
He will be aware of what is being said, the type of feedback and also from the mother who has clearly expressed her concerns. Responding to Tillman's mother's concerns, he claimed that Prince Harry was "not consulted" on receiving the award.
Harold admitted: I wasn't sure he would take it, but obviously the advice he was given was 'why not?'
I know how much it meant to him through his involvement in the armed forces and the founding of the Invictus Games. So to give this award for those reasons, in my mind, makes sense.
Acknowledging the backlash from the veteran community, Harold continued: Obviously there's a pretty strong opinion about it, but I just feel it's a little unfair to judge it.
