Islamabad - The assistant director of NADRA involved in issuing Pakistan identity cards to foreign nationals was arrested. According to the spokesperson of FIA, the assistant director of NADRA involved in issuing identity cards to Afghan citizens has been arrested during the operation by FIA. Efforts are on to arrest other accomplices of the accused involved in this crime.

On the other hand, the Federal Investigation Agency arrested 4 suspects, including 2 Afghan citizens, who forged ID cards. 2 Pakistanis and 2 Afghan nationals are involved, the Afghan nationals had gone to NADRA office to make Pakistani ID cards while the 2 accused residents of Kurram were facilitating Afghan nationals to make Pakistani ID cards.

Earlier, FIA's anti-corruption circle Islamabad had arrested 4 officers of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for making fake identity cards. Among the arrested accused were Tahir, Adnan, Aamir Khan and Tayyab. I was appointed as Deputy Assistant Director and Senior Executive, the accused issued identity cards to foreigners in 2019 and 2020.

It was reported that the accused used to take people's biometrics and register Afghan citizens in the family tree. received huge sums of money under the guise of issuing identity cards
