Awam Pakistan Party leader Miftah Ismail once again presented a formula to reduce electricity bills.
Miftah Ismail said in his statement that there is a tax of 24 percent on household electricity bills, 37 percent on commercial bills and 27 percent on industrial electricity bills. This is followed by additional tax, sales tax and advance income tax.
The government is collecting 7.5% advance tax from domestic consumer, 12% from commercial and 5% from industrial consumer. The target is to collect 450 billion rupees in taxes this fiscal year.

Miftah Ismail said that the provincial governments and the federal government should eliminate all taxes from electricity bills from July to October, this will reduce the income of the year by 450 billion rupees. Provinces will get 265 billion rupees and the federal government will get 185 billion rupees less. By cutting Rs 185 billion from the government's PSDP, the IMF's primary surplus target will be achieved.
He said that last year the government spent 705 billion on PSDP, this year PSDP is Rs 1400 billion, the government is asking for sacrifice from the people and has taxed the salaried class and professionals.
The government should bring the PSDP to Rs 965 billion so that taxes can be removed from all consumer bills.
