Prince William at 'risk' of repeating 'past mistakes' by sending George to Eton
Kate Middleton is reportedly "heartbroken" by Prince William's decision to send Prince George to Eton College.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly at odds over the choice, as it conflicts with the royal family's efforts to "modernize the kingdom".
Kate's concerns stem from her own experience of being "horribly bullied" at Down House, her first boarding school in Berkshire, and she "can't bear the thought" of George facing a similar situation.
He transferred mid-term to the co-ed Marlborough College in Wiltshire, where he completed his studies.
Sources close to the royal family say the 42-year-old is determined to get George into Marlborough, while William is determined to send him to Eton, which costs £53,398 a year.
Both William and Prince Harry attended Eton, breaking from the old tradition of attending Gordonstone, a Scottish boarding school.
While William had a positive experience at Eton, Harry expressed that he does not remember his early days at the prestigious institution fondly.
Speaking to In Touch Weekly, a royal insider said: "Kate believes that sending George to such a stuffy, high-profile institution goes against all her efforts to modernize the monarchy. Also, she George will be sorely missed."
He added: "Kate has long disagreed with her husband about leaving her, although it is tradition." However, it has been reported that Kate has given in to William's wishes and agreed to his request for education.

's father was the choice of the Duke of Edinburgh. But I think we should look for a school that complements the child's natural abilities and personality... not try to make them into something they are not.
"Surely this should apply to any family, royal or not?! William risks repeating the mistakes of the past just because he enjoyed Eton. It may not suit Prince George and If Kate is concerned that she may be a victim of bullying, that should be considered.
Another wrote: "Prince George at Marlborough will, hopefully, be able to connect with people who don't have the same privileges as members of the aristocracy and people with money.
While a third expressed: "Kate is right not to send Prince George to Eton as another posted: "Boarding school is not the problem, Eton is. Unfortunately, there is no advice or right choice. Is.
