Islamabad - The World Health Organization (WHO) is taking steps to provide emergency medical aid to the victims of Israeli airstrikes in al-Mawasi area of ​​Gaza. At least 78 people have been killed and 294 injured in these attacks.


WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that his organization and its partners are working to provide emergency medical aid and provide adequate treatment to the seriously injured.

After these attacks, many people were also buried under the debris of destroyed buildings, who are feared dead.
The director general has said on the social media website X that 134 people who were seriously injured in the attacks have been transferred to Nasr Medical Complex, but due to the large number of people injured, this hospital is under severe pressure.

Increase in capacity

He has confirmed that WHO staff are present at the hospital where two emergency medical teams are treating the injured.


The organization has sent 50 folding beds and 50 stretchers to expand the hospital's capacity, while pre-stocked medicines and wound treatment equipment are being used to save lives.
The director general has said that some of the injured have been transferred to the field hospital in Deir ul-Balah, where WHO has sent medical equipment to meet the immediate needs of 120 patients.
