Bangladesh: Students announce resumption of protest over non-release of leaders

The student group in Bangladesh has demanded the release of its arrested leaders and has also announced to resume the protest from tomorrow if the demand is not met.

According to a foreign news agency, a curfew has been in force across the country since last week to stop the protests.

More than 200 people were killed in last week's violent protests in Bangladesh, and more than 2,000 people were arrested.

The news agency says 147 people were officially confirmed dead in the violent protests.

In Bangladesh, students protested against the quota system of government jobs, and the Supreme Court of Bangladesh set 97% open merit for government jobs.
