Leading South Korean K-pop band BTS has won the Artist of the Year award at the American Music Awards (AMA) show, making it the first Asian music group to win the award.
The seven-member South Korean musical band has also won the Favorite Pop Band and Favorite Song for the pop song “Butter”. The colorful awards ceremony was hosted by American rapper and singer Cardi B. South Korea’s largest music band BTS has so far won nine AMA Awards.
The band sang “My Universe” with the British rock band Cold Play, which was first shown on television around the world.
