NA 133 PTI leaders expressed reservations over giving tickets to Jamshed Cheema

Lahore – In the case of the NA-133 by-election, the nomination papers of the PTI candidate were rejected, the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar expressed anger at Ejaz Chaudhry. According to private TV channel Dunya News, party officials had expressed reservations over giving tickets to Jamshed Cheema. According to PTI sources, Shabbir Sial wanted to be a candidate from this constituency.

On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar expressed anger over Ijaz Chaudhry for not checking nomination papers. Prime Minister Imran Khan had appointed Ijaz Chaudhry in charge of the election campaign. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar expressed anger over the neglect of legal requirements regarding nomination papers and said that it was the responsibility of Ijaz Chaudhry as the party president.

He said that no other party leader had filed nomination papers for by-elections. The Punjab Chief Minister said that it was the responsibility of Ejaz Chaudhry to monitor the affairs. It may be recalled that some time ago, the Election Commission rejected the nomination papers of PTI candidates Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and Musarat Cheema for the NA-133 by-election.

The verifier of both the spouses does not belong to the respective constituency. According to the Returning Officer, the proposer of Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and Musarat Cheema is not from NA-133, the proposer of Jamshed Iqbal Cheema is a resident of Model Town. The winner should be from the current constituency. Under the election rules, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema is ineligible to contest elections.

It may be recalled that this seat was vacated after the death of senior PML-N leader Pervez Malik after which Jamshed Iqbal Cheema was nominated by PTI in the election. Shaista Pervez Malik was the PML-N candidate. While Pakistan Peoples Party had fielded Aslam Gul
