ISLAMABAD - Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wanted to remove Chief Justice Saqib Nisar. A report in the Jang newspaper claimed that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wanted to remove the then Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar during his tenure. The reference was prepared for submission to the Supreme Judicial Council.
Later, when President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, and Attorney General Ashtrasaf opposed it, the reference was removed. Saqib Nisar disqualified Nawaz Sharif's government and removed him from the post of Prime Minister. He wanted to get rid of them but his successor Shahid Khaqan Abbasi persuaded him to give up his efforts. The then President Mamnoon Hussain was also shocked to see a copy of the reference.
When contacted, Ashtar Ausaf, like the former Attorney General, also endorsed such measures, saying that Nawaz Sharif was misled by some elements in the PML-N government, which he refrained from pointing out, but said that when he After informing the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi of his concerns, he changed his mind. According to Astra O Saaf, this is the end of 2017 or the beginning of 2018 when Shahid Khaqan Abbasi summoned the Attorney General to his office and made a reference. When the copy was shown, he refrained from reading it and asked them not to proceed.
According to Ishtar Olaf, after knowing his position, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi agreed with him. Ishtar Osaf said that no such reference would be acceptable after the decision of the Supreme Court as the Chief Justice of Pakistan is the head of the Supreme Judicial Council.
