After the video of snatching the purse and hitting the girl on social media went viral, CCPO Rawalpindi took immediate notice and issued special orders to the Pothohar Division Police for immediate arrest of the accused. It is reported that during the arrest, accused Anis Iqbal resisted the police party and tried to open fire on the police.

It is to be noted that the incident took place in the Dhok Chaudhry Azizabad area of Rawalpindi where a motorcyclist not only pulled a walking girl from a burqa but also snatched her purse and fled.
