ISLAMABAD (10bmnews Latest News) The inside story of a consultative meeting on trade relations with India chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan has come to light.
According to private TV, Prime Minister Imran Khan has rejected the recommendations of the Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) on imports of cotton and sugar from India after consulting Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other cabinet members.

The Prime Minister directed the Government Economic Team to take immediate steps to facilitate the concerned sectors with regard to alternative sources of imports.
It is important to note that in accordance with the prevailing rules and regulations of the government, various proposals are presented to the Economic Co-ordination Committee which is considered from an economic and financial point of view.

Although the decision of the Economic Co-ordination Committee was not on the agenda of the Cabinet yesterday, the Prime Minister had directed that the decision of the Economic Coordination Committee be postponed immediately after the issue was raised by the Cabinet members.
