One million rupees will be provided to each family annually
Under health insurance citizens can seek treatment in more than 400 public and private hospitals across Pakistan
ISLAMABAD (10bmnews Latest News) The government has announced to provide Rs 1 million annually to each family. According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan in his message on the microblogging website Twitter congratulated the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on universal health coverage and wrote on the social networking website Twitter that he congratulated all citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on health coverage.
He said that 40 million citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been provided health coverage. PM Imran Khan said that Rs. 1 million would be provided to each family annually and under health insurance, citizens could seek treatment in more than 400 public and private hospitals across Pakistan.
On the other hand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesman Kamran Bangash said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has fulfilled its promise to issue health cards to all citizens without any discrimination and congratulations to the people on the health card plus facility provided by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
He said that the PTI government fulfilled another promise made to the people. Health card plus is being given to the citizens of southern districts today while Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan will visit DI Khan and Tank today. It may be recalled that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa became the first province to provide universal health coverage. 40 million people from 6.5 million households in the province will get free treatment.
Each family can get free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh. The facility will be available to all residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on identity cards. It is worth mentioning here that the implementation of the project was started in October last year. In the first phase, the population of Swat, Chitral, and Malakand was included. Other districts were added in November, December 2020. Last month, Peshawar, Mardan and other districts were added
