In Myanmar the military once again took control of the country giving martial law


Yangon (10bmnews Latest News) Myanmar’s military has once again revolted against Aung San Suu Kyi’s elected government and seized power. The move comes after days of tensions between the government and the military.


According to media reports, a statement issued on a TV station owned by the army said that it had carried out detentions in response to election fraud, which gave power to army chief Man Aung Hlaing and imposed a state of emergency for a year.


Phone lines to the capital Nay Pyi Taw and the main commercial center Yangon have been cut off and state TV has been shut down before the first session of parliament. Locals say troops have taken up positions in Yangon’s city hall. And mobile internet data and phone services in the NLD stronghold are also affected.


Aung San Suu Kyi Myanmar’s President Onemint, and other NLD leaders were arrested early in the morning. Don’t give up and I want them to abide by the law. He said he expected to be arrested himself but could not be reached for comment.
